The Manager of Kindle Software Quality Assurance will build and supervise a team in Chennai that partners with US-based teams to ensure high quality & operational stability of the platform services that manage Kindle clients and drive ongoing content management & deliver experiences. This team is a central part of a vibrant and growing set of teams focused on quality of the overall Kindle experience and consists primarily of QA engineers working with a mixture of automation tools supported by a smaller number of Software Engineers. Significant growth is anticipated in the next year which will be balanced with division into more specialized teams.



The successful candidate will understand business requirements and technical implementation of distributed services architectures, and have a demonstrated ability to collaborate with sister QA organizations in other geographies to develop effective distributed QA strategies. Next, strategy will be translated into efficient and scalable test methodologies and tracked by meaningful metrics. The SQA Manager is a hands-on manager who can hire and mentor a team of services & user-level QA engineers, but s/he is also a higher-level thinker who can envision and implement the growth of capabilities of the team—perhaps to user-level automation, then to involvement in OS- and Framework-level testing.
