Production Support Engineer (Java/ Oracle)

Responsibilities:(Singapore)
You will be involved in providing 24×7 critical support that requires investigating and troubleshooting issues, as well as providing timely improvements / resolutions to address problems / incidents encountered.
Other core responsibilities include:
- Perform and monitor production batch jobs, programs, report generation and file transfers for mission critical banking and financial applications.
- Ensure that job executions are completed within the timeframe window
- Execute investigative and corrective actions if production problems occur
- Notify responsible parties if production problems are not resolved and may have downstream impact to other interfaces systems
- Perform root cause analysis and prepare incident reports
- Conduct daily capacity, SLA and performance review / analysis
- Actively identify areas for improvement to ensure system stability and ease of maintenance
- Participate in COB testing and audit
- At least 2 years of relevant application support experience in Financial Services Industry / Banking domain
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Able to be deployed on 24×7 standby support and ability to work on shift (A Shift : 0700-1500/ B Shift : 1400-2300)
- Ability to put long hours, when required to ensure timely delivery and project success
- Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Programming Languages: Java, J2EE, EJB, JSP, Pro*C, Oracle PL/SQL programming
- Operating system: Extensive knowledge on UNIX, Shell Scripting, Windows
- Databases: Oracle 9i, 10g
- Middle Layer: IBM MQ-Messaging
